176. WRATH OF THE TITANS (dir. Jonathan Liebesman, 2012) (Preview Screening)
I went into CLASH with such low expectations (and managed to find a screening in 2D) that I didn’t absolutely hate it as much as the rest of the world did. Perhaps it was my love of ancient mythology, but I managed to find something to enjoy despite its myriad flaws. The sequel, however, seems to dispense with the storylines we all know and love, to tell a ridiculous tale of Zeus and Hades shouting at each other in a cave, while Perseus bumps into a random selection of mythological beasts. Rosamund Pike’s sexy warrior helped keep things entertaining, while the visual look of the film - even in 3D - was actually pretty impressive. It was just incredibly stupid, in a frustrating, rather than entertaining, way.
